The lawyer
OpenA lawyer in commercial, trademark, product liability or customs law who can turn the promises Moduloa has already published into terms that hold, before the first contract is signed.
An open invitation, not a vacancy: several people can take it at once, and it carries no number until you commit to something specific. This page says what Moduloa hopes for and where a first contribution could start.
Why Moduloa needs this
Moduloa publishes its commitments before it has a customer: eight numbered terms, frozen and held against it, including a one-pilot guarantee (T-04) and an NRE refund (T-05). Its delivery terms are printed with their open customs questions, and hub certification, which the people page calls the product, would need protecting as a mark before customers could rely on it. Each is a promise that will one day be tested in a contract, and each needs a lawyer's reading before it binds anyone.
What you would bring
- Commercial contracts for manufacturing or supply: master agreements, quality agreements, and guarantees with their limits.
- Certification marks, or standards and conformity schemes, in Norway and the EU.
- Product liability where design and production sit with different parties, including the revised EU Product Liability Directive (2024/2853).
- Customs and trade: Incoterms, importer of record, customs valuation and export controls.
- Licensing for work built in public: who owns a contribution, and what others may do with it.
Tasks that suit you
Each has a plain test for done. Ask to commit to one: name what you will deliver and a date no more than three months after it is accepted. Several people can work on the same task, each with its own deliverable.
- C-02 One lane, priced three ways · One to two weeks · Ask to commit to C-02 →
- B-04 Importer of record, two markets · Two to three weeks · Ask to commit to B-04 →
- J-01 Hub criteria by domain and size · Two to three weeks · Ask to commit to J-01 →
Other first deliverables
Each is specific enough that by its date anyone can tell whether it was delivered. Some are a task above in a smaller form. Name one, or a better one.
- A written review of terms T-01 to T-08 marking which could stand in a contract as written and which need scoping, starting with T-04, the one-pilot guarantee, when the fault lies in the customer's design.
- A short memo on how a hub certification mark could be protected in Norway and the EU, given that an EU certification mark is not available to a business that supplies the kind of service it certifies (EUTMR Article 83(2)).
- An answer, or the route to a binding ruling, on the customs question the economics page leaves open: whether a capacity subscription counts toward the dutiable value of units sold at cost (UCC Article 70(2)).
What this is, and is not
Not a retainer or a client relationship: on its own a seat carries no pay, no equity and no supplier position, and any paid legal work would be agreed separately. What you deliver is published, so write it as commentary anyone can read, not as advice to a client.
When your commitment is accepted, it shows on the task and on your seat card, and a first commitment takes the next permanent number on the register, with your name, a link and your date. When the work is delivered in the open you are aboard and a certificate is issued. Nothing is paid for a seat and none is for sale: on its own a seat carries no equity and no supplier position, and any paid work is agreed separately, on its own terms. The entry stays either way: a commitment not delivered by its date is marked lapsed and dated, never removed.
Pick a task that suits you and ask to commit to it, or name your own first deliverable: what you will deliver and a date no more than three months after it is accepted. Write to shk@moduloa.com, or use the link on any task, which opens the contact page with the subject filled in. It does not have to be large. It has to be specific enough that anyone can tell by its date whether it was delivered.
