Privacy at Moduloa
Updated 2026-10-02Moduloa publishes its manufacturing work and research in the open. This page explains what happens to information when you read the site, ask Datum a question, or get in touch.
Who operates this site
Moduloa.com is operated by founder Sondre Hegerland Kristiansen in Norway. For privacy questions or requests concerning your information, write to shk@moduloa.com.
Hosting and site measurements
Vercel hosts the website and its Datum endpoint. Delivering a page involves technical request information, including your IP address and browser request headers. Hosting and security logs are separate from the measurements below. See Vercel's privacy notice.
Most pages load Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights automatically. These help identify useful pages and loading problems. Measurements can include page URLs, referrers, approximate location, browser and device categories, and performance timings. Vercel describes Web Analytics as using aggregated statistics without third-party cookies. Its Web Analytics privacy documentation and Speed Insights privacy documentation explain the data each service processes.
What Datum sends
Datum is optional. Sending a question transmits it to Moduloa's endpoint on Vercel. The endpoint sends your question, up to six recent messages from that conversation, and selected passages from the public website to Anthropic's API to generate a cited answer. Avoid including confidential documents or sensitive personal information in a question.
The conversation is held in the current page's memory, rather than saved to browser storage. Reloading starts a new conversation; closing the panel alone keeps it. Moduloa's chat code does not write conversations to a database. It uses an IP address in a temporary, in-memory counter to limit repeated requests, and records diagnostic errors and usage warnings. This does not mean the hosting or AI providers keep no records.
Anthropic states that commercial API inputs and outputs are not used for model training by default. Its training policy, data handling guidance and commercial terms explain its processing.
Email, comments and interactive tools
Email sent to Moduloa reaches the founder through Proton Mail. Your address, message and any attachments are used to read and respond to your inquiry. Your own email provider also handles the message. See Proton Mail's privacy policy.
Some pages embed giscus to display public GitHub discussions. Those pages contact giscus when the widget loads, even if you do not comment. Posting is optional and requires GitHub authorization. Your comments, reactions and public account identity appear in the public discussion. Read how giscus works and GitHub's privacy statement.
The manufacturing demo, calculator and BOM builder process their inputs in your browser. These local calculations are separate from the site measurements and Datum described above.
Optional lab services have additional data flows. The PrintDrop upload form sends a model file, requester name, access code, material choice and optional contact detail to api.moduloa.com for handling the requested job. Its operator tools use browser storage for setup progress, preferences and access credentials.
Questions and requests
You can contact shk@moduloa.com to ask about information concerning you, or request access, correction, deletion, restriction or object to its use where applicable. Include enough context to locate the inquiry or interaction. Provider retention and international processing are described in the links above; clearing browser history does not delete information already sent to a service.
If you believe your privacy rights have been infringed, you can complain to Datatilsynet, Norway's Data Protection Authority.
