The storyteller

Open

A filmmaker, animator or plain-language writer who can show how one product would move through Moduloa to people who will never read the thesis, without pretending it already exists.

An open invitation, not a vacancy: several people can take it at once, and it carries no number until you commit to something specific. This page says what Moduloa hopes for and where a first contribution could start.

Say what you would deliver

Why it matters

Why Moduloa needs this

Moduloa is explained in long documents: a seventeen-section thesis, six phase pages and a nine-chapter journey on the Manufacturing page. Thesis section 16 names five audiences (customers, factories, investors, government and experts) and says each needs its own message, and few of them will read that much. Nothing exists yet, so there is no factory to film: every image has to show a proposal as a proposal.

What we hope for

What you would bring

  • Explainer film or animation of technical systems, ideally ones that did not exist yet or could not be filmed.
  • Plain-language writing that turns a specification into a page a non-specialist can act on, tested on real readers.
  • Diagrams and motion that stay accurate, the kind a manufacturing engineer would not wince at.
  • The habit of labeling what is proposed, simulated or fictional, the way the site labels its test configurator and the EX-100.
On the task board

Tasks that suit you

Each has a plain test for done. Ask to commit to one: name what you will deliver and a date no more than three months after it is accepted. Several people can work on the same task, each with its own deliverable.

Or your own

Other first deliverables

Each is specific enough that by its date anyone can tell whether it was delivered. Some are a task above in a smaller form. Name one, or a better one.

  1. A storyboard or animatic of the fictional EX-100 going from submission to a delivered unit, following the nine chapters of the Manufacturing page, from a released design to the next order and marked as a proposal in every frame.
  2. A plain-language version of one dense page, such as the intake standard or the subscription, tested on readers outside manufacturing, with a note of what each one misread.
  3. A short script for one of the five audiences in thesis section 16, saying in their own terms what Moduloa would do for them and what it cannot do yet.
The terms

What this is, and is not

What this is not

Not a paid commission or an agency brief: on its own a seat carries no pay and no equity, and any paid work is agreed separately. Not advertising either: nothing may show a hub, a robot floor or a customer as if it exists.

What you get

When your commitment is accepted, it shows on the task and on your seat card, and a first commitment takes the next permanent number on the register, with your name, a link and your date. When the work is delivered in the open you are aboard and a certificate is issued. Nothing is paid for a seat and none is for sale: on its own a seat carries no equity and no supplier position, and any paid work is agreed separately, on its own terms. The entry stays either way: a commitment not delivered by its date is marked lapsed and dated, never removed.

How to start

Pick a task that suits you and ask to commit to it, or name your own first deliverable: what you will deliver and a date no more than three months after it is accepted. Write to shk@moduloa.com, or use the link on any task, which opens the contact page with the subject filled in. It does not have to be large. It has to be specific enough that anyone can tell by its date whether it was delivered.
